Academy Membership is designed for golfers who are starting to build their game and want to take the next step towards confident, independent play. It combines structured coaching, on-course learning, and full access to Club facilities in a supportive environment. It runs for a period of 12 months from joining and is non-renewable.

The Club is committed to supporting members at every stage of development, helping you progress from practise to regular play with clear guidance throughout.

Coaching and Development

Academy Members receive:
* 10 x 30-minute lessons with our PGA Professional, Peter Buchan (delivered individually or in small groups, covering all aspects of the game on the practise area or course)
* Coaching in swing fundamentals, short game, and course play
* Tuition in rules, etiquette, and on-course awareness
* A monthly Academy roll-up for Academy members to play with one another

Playing Access (Green Card Scheme)

To ensure safety and confidence on the course, members work towards achieving a Green Card. This is awarded by Peter Buchan once a player demonstrates basic proficiency, safety awareness, and understanding of course etiquette during supervised playing sessions.

Once achieved, members gain access to the course at off-peak times:
* Weekdays after 1pm
* Weekends after 2pm (booking via the ClubV1 tee time booking system)

Progression

Academy Members are encouraged to begin working towards a World Handicap System (WHS) handicap during their year, although there is no requirement to reach a specific standard.

Bar Card Benefits

Members benefit from a tiered bar credit system based on monthly spend. Credit is added to your Club bar card each month, rewarding regular use of the clubhouse in a simple and flexible way.
