Visitor Information & Tee Time Booking

We welcome visitors with handicaps and hope the information below will help you enjoy your round.
Before proceeding, please read the following important terms and conditions.

Competency to play/handicap requirement
For safety reasons we operate a competency policy. This means that all visitors are required to have valid WHS™ Handicap Index® (or equivalent) and CDH Number to play our course. You are responsible for providing this information for each person in your booking. If you do not have a handicap please do not make a tee booking as you will not be able to play the course. This applies to all members of your group.

Course Safety information
Before playing the course, please ensure that you and others on whose behalf you are making a tee booking, familiarise yourselves with the course safety information (this information is also available by scanning the QR code on the scorecard).
In making a booking you confirm and consent on your and your group’s behalf, that you have read, understood and agree to the competency-to-play and course safety information requirements, and that all golfers in your group agree to comply with the safety notices and guidelines whilst playing on our course.

Insurance Cover
The Club has public liability insurance cover for both third party injury and property damage through Golfguard Insurance (view policy terms).
Whilst this provides a basic level of coverage for visitors playing the course who have paid a green fee, all golfers are advised that the onus for personal liability is the responsibility of the individual golfer. In consequence the Club advises that all golfers should have in place their own golfing insurance coverage adequate to meet their own risk/personal insurance requirement.

Book a tee time
Please note: We only accept 9-hole tee bookings made and paid for in advance using our online tee booking form. We no longer take 9-hole bookings over the phone or in person and do not offer a walk in and play service. No tee times can be booked or paid for in the Pro Shop.

Book 9 holes - Book and pay online using the online tee booking form at least 24 hours in advance.
Book 18 holes - Phone the office on 020 8894 0165 (option 2) at least 24 hours in advance or email secretary@shgolf.co.uk
Book 9 or 18 holes with a County Card - Phone the office on 020 8894 0165 (option 2) at least 24 hours in advance

On arrival: car parking
Parking is available at the Club. A Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) operates in Wellesley Road and in the immediate Strawberry Hill area from 10.00 to 16.30 Monday to Friday (excluding Public and Bank Holidays). Pay and Display and Ringo payment facilities are available.
On arrival: checking in
When you arrive at the Club, please check-in at the Pro Shop before commencing play. Each player in your group may be asked to show a valid handicap certificate. You can do this using the England Golf app. We recommend you arrive in good time before your tee booking to allow for this administration. If the Pro Shop is closed when you arrive, please check-out at the end of your round.

Waldegrave Course
Visitors must play the Waldegrave course (yellow and blue tee markers). A scorecard for the Waldegrave course contains all the essential information and local rules. It is available from the Pro Shop but when it is closed you can pick one up from inside the back door of the clubhouse.
If you are playing 9 holes you can choose to play from either the yellow or blue tees but not a mix of both. If you are playing 18 holes you should play the course in order - the front 9 holes off the yellow tees and the back 9 holes off the blue tees.

Note, men and women play from the same tees although the par for some holes differs.

Course etiquette
All players must have their own golf clubs/bags. We also request that you follow our dress code, on the course and in the Clubhouse.
Please avoid slow play at all times. Call quicker players through if there is space on the course immediately ahead of you.

Course Marshals
To help all golfers have a safe and enjoyable experience on the course, SHGC operates a system of volunteer marshals. Our marshals can be identified by their burgundy vests and blue SHGC caps and can usually be found outside the Clubhouse on the patio area or by the first tee. They also attend around the course when time allows. Please ask them if you need any information about playing the course.
The marshals may ask your name and to see your handicap certificate. This helps us ensure all our visitors meet the competency requirement to play the course, and to monitor who is on the course when. This is important for insurance purposes, both the Club’s and yours so please cooperate with them.

Important
If there is an accident or your ball leaves the golf course boundary, you MUST report this immediately at the end of your round to the Club Manager by email (secretary@shgolf.co.uk) or phone (020 8894 0165, option 2). Please state your name, the hole number, the location from where the shot was taken and where you believe the shot may have landed. This information is required for safety reporting purposes only.**

Thank you for your cooperation and enjoy your golf at Strawberry Hill.
