Men’s Golf
Our Men's section welcomes players of all abilities, from those new to the game through to low-handicap golfers. With a full calendar of competitions and events, there are plenty of opportunities to play, compete, and socialise throughout the year.
Weekend competitions are open to full members and are typically held on Saturday and Sunday mornings, alongside a programme of inter-club matches against local clubs. Many competitions feature drawn partners or teams, helping members meet and play with a wide variety of others - making it easy to find a game and feel part of the club.
Sunday golf is a particular highlight, with a relaxed halfway break for a light bite in the clubhouse, adding to the sociable atmosphere and camaraderie that defines golf at the club.
Our active weekday section, led by the dedicated 2025-2026 Captain, David Alexander, offers a warm welcome to new members. With regular competitions, friendly roll-ups, and a strong programme of senior matches - including county and national competitions - there's something for everyone to enjoy during the week.
Women’s Golf
We are proud to have a thriving and welcoming Women's section, making up a significant part of the club's membership.
Led by the 2025-2026 Women's Captain, Becky Griffiths, and her committee, the section offers a supportive and inclusive environment for players of all levels. A mentoring programme helps new members settle in quickly, whether they are new to the club or new to golf, with guidance on handicaps, rules, and course etiquette always available.
There is a wide range of competitions and social golf opportunities throughout the year, from friendly roll-ups to more competitive events. With competitions held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and weekends, members can easily find playing opportunities to suit their schedules. The section also proudly competes annually in the prestigious Pearson Cup.
Mixed Golf
Mixed golf plays a big part in the social life of the club, bringing members of all ages together in a fun and inclusive setting.
Regular Friday evening roll-ups during the summer are a favourite, welcoming both adults and juniors, as well as families. Alongside these are a variety of enjoyable events, including the ever-popular night golf.
For those seeking competition, the club hosts key mixed events such as the JH Taylor Cup and the Club Championship, as well as a range of summer competitions. The annual mixed foursomes knockout is always keenly contested - where "Sorry Partner!" is often the most frequently heard phrase, adding to the fun, friendly spirit of the competition.
